I think the real issue is the context in which we say that as well as how we say it and the relationship we have with those to whom we want to communicate that message. A cold call "Jesus die for your sins" has little meaning for most contemporary Westerners and, even worse, is likely to shut the door tight to any kind of meaningful interaction.
