“There is nothing magical about the flip of the calendar, but it represents a clean break, a new hope, and a blank canvas.” ― Jason Soroski —

Yahweh’s acts of commitment,
that we’re not finished
that his compassion isn’t ended.
They’re new each morning;
his truthfulness is great.
‘Yahweh is my share,’
my entire being said;
therefore I shall wait for them.

-Lamentations 3:22–24 (BFE)

Let me share a glimpse of how I worked through this Scripture, praying and reflecting as I went:

My scribbled notes.
My scribbled notes as I reflected on the meaning of this well-known passage.

Reflection:

Yahweh’s (God’s) acts of love, loyalty, and mercy are not complete, not finished, and not yet exhausted. There is more to come! The compassion of God surrounds and protects us like a mother’s womb, a safe place to grow and be nourished. We have nothing of greater value, and nothing more important-God alone is our inheritance and our legacy.

At the beginning of the year, it is good to be reminded that God is eternally merciful and renews His love for us over and over again. He is our portion for our daily needs, and carrying that hope into the new year will provide strength and courage to face trials.
